Dear student,

We would like to thank you all for cooperating with ISI’s COVID19 safety guidelines since we reopened for face-to-face classes on August 10th.

As you know, Dublin is now on a Level 3 risk, meaning cases of COVID19 have been rising in Dublin. This means we all need to be more careful and take even more personal responsibility both in and outside school.

We would like to remind students of the following:

STAY AT HOME IF YOU FEEL SICK

Don’t come to school if…

  • you have a fever (high temperature – 38 degrees Celsius or above)
  • you have a cough – this can be any kind of cough, not just dry
  • you have shortness of breath or breathing difficulties
  • you have a lost or changed sense of smell or taste
  • you live with someone who tests positive for COVID19
  • you test positive for COVID19

Your attendance will not be affected! Just email Clodagh if you can’t come to school for the above reasons. If you have the above symptoms, you must contact your GP (doctor) for a FREE CONSULATION by phone and if advised, a FREE COVID19 TEST.  For further instructions, see ISI’s COVID19 safety guidelines.

REDUCE CONTACTS

Try to reduce your contacts outside ISI Dublin by 50%, for example, if you normally meet and socialise with 10 people in a week outside of class, try to reduce that number to 5.

TAKEAWAY CAFÉ

Under Level 3, our cafés are now ‘takeaway’ only, you cannot eat or drink in the cafés. While this may be inconvenient, in the Meetinghouse Lane building, you may use the student lounges and lobby area on the ground floor to eat, drink and relax. In Parnell Sq. we have moved café purchases to the 2nd floor, so you can still use the cafe on the 1st floor to relax, eat and drink.  Also note, you cannot eat  or drink coffee in the classrooms, as this involves removing your mask for extended periods. You can of course drink water.

NO MASK = 2 METRES

When you take off your mask to eat or drink you should try to keep 2 metres from other students (except for the people you actually live with). We suggest you eat lunch/have coffee with no more than 1 other person from your class.

MASKS AND VISORS

New research shows that masks are more effective than visors in stopping the spread of COVID19. As such, we are now asking all students to wear a mask instead of a visor. If you cannot wear a mask due to a health condition, you can wear a visor, if you stay 2 metres away from everyone during class. Please email academic@isi-ireland.ie if you need to wear a visor instead of a mask, and we will organise appropriate seating for you in your classroom.

KEEP YOUR DISTANCE

In class you must wear your mask at all times and make sure to keep at least 1 metre from your classmates. Please remember this during class activities such as pair work, don’t move too close together and do not move the furniture in the classrooms.

SANITISE

Sanitise and wash your hands regularly throughout the day, as you move around the school building.

ONLINE

If one of your classmates tests positive for COVID19, your class will be moved online for 2 weeks, during which time you should self-isolate and contact your doctor if you develop symptoms. See our guidelines for more information.
