Hello! My name is Pedro Kaio. I’m Brazilian, from the interior of Pernambuco, a town called Cabrobó. I clearly remember watching the movie 13 Going on 30 as a child and finding it funny how the character discovered a new version of herself at 30.
Now, at 30, I see myself in the same context.

Stepping Into My 30s: A Fresh Start

Living in Ireland for seven months, I feel like I’m retracing my steps and, like Jennifer Garner’s character Jenna Rink, entering a new cycle of challenges — even feeling like a child learning to read and discovering new words.

🌎 Finding Strength Beyond Home

Leaving home, my comfort zone, and my family’s embrace, as any immigrant experiences, is an immense challenge. I’ve discovered new strength through diverse work experiences and by building a support network, which is essential for surviving abroad.

I started working very young — the classic story of starting early — but I’ve always needed to be strong. I left home at seven due to personal reasons. Since then, I’ve taken on many responsibilities and carried with me the dream of living abroad.

🌍 Chasing Dreams and Embracing New Beginnings ❤️

I discovered Ireland online and, about four years ago, decided to make this dream a reality. At first, it was very difficult because every move requires sacrifice — and I left a lot behind. I miss my family, but I found a welcoming Brazilian community here. Ireland embraced me and gave me the chance to rediscover myself.

I lost my father early and have been working non-stop since I was sixteen. I’ve done everything — even collecting cans. For me, every job is valuable. I also enjoy sharing my story, challenges, and achievements on social media to inspire others.

Today, I continue building my path in Ireland, aiming to keep dreaming, learning, and motivating others. I’ve traveled to more than 12 countries and want to keep exploring the world, improving my English, and using my experiences to inspire people to believe in themselves and embrace new beginnings.
