We look forward to welcoming your junior students to our Summer Camp in 2017!
Our Summer Camp programme will take place from 26th of June to 11th of August and is open to teenagers between 12 to 17 years old. Every year we welcome students from a variety of countries including Spain, Germany, Russia, Italy, Mexico, Brazil, France and Belgium.
The camp takes place in an excellent location – Belvedere College, a prestigious and historic private high school in Dublin’s city centre. The school has been a centre of excellence for many years; in fact, Irish novelist and poet James Joyce was a student there in 1894. The school has excellent facilities including an indoor heated swimming pool, all weather outdoor sports pitch, indoor gym hall, canteen and courtyard for relaxing breaks.
Summer Camp students have 20hours of tuition per week and the lessons plans are all about putting “English into Action”. Our teachers create a fun and exciting environment in which to learn and practice English. Lesson plans are devised around communicative based activities including street surveys, mini group projects and presentations so students not only interact with their classmates but also native speakers. Students will also get the opportunity to learn plenty about contemporary and traditional Irish culture.
There are over 35 hours of entertainment every week in the Summer Camp Programme. The activity programme combines sporting, cultural and fun activities, all designed to keep the students engaged and inspired. Afternoon activities include visits to Dublin’s most famous landmarks and museums, the majority of which are located in the city centre and within the walking distance from the school. We strive to provide both educative and fun activities on a daily basis. Evening activities include movie nights, Irish dancing shows and discos.
Summer camp students are accommodated with a select group of friendly host families who are all very experienced. We accommodate summer students within a close ratio to each other which means students of all nationalities can take public transport together and visit each other during their free time.
All in all, the ISI Dublin ‘English in Action’ Summer programme is ideal for young teenagers who are looking to have both a fun and educational experience, learn more about Irish lifestyle and culture as well as make new friends from all over the world!
