Travel from Ireland to major cities in Europe

Airplane

To all ISI students – now that things are opening up again and slowly reverting to normal, you may be wondering where you’ll get to travel for the Autumn?

Airplane

Whether you want to go home to see your families or just go to visit some tourist destinations around Europe, there’s a whole range of options available with cheap low cost airlines.

Ryanair – the low-costs airline

Ryanair is the first and most obvious place to look for bargains. This Irish-founded company, led by its CEO Michael O’Leary, has revolutionised cheap and affordable air travel. For decades Ryanair has been the natural go-to travel agency for travellers on a tighter budget (as students often tend to be!). Ryanair is connected to over 40 countries and employs over 19,000 people.

As air travel opens up again and normal air traffic starts to resume, Ryanair is keen to entice people back to flying by giving out some extremely cheap deals. If you book early enough, you may get lucky. For instance, Ryanair is currently offering flights to a huge variety of major European cities for as little as €5 euros one way!

It all depends on the day you plan to travel. Fridays in general are more expensive than Thursdays or midweek – though even €50 euros for a flight is not all that expensive. The month of the year you choose to travel also makes a difference to the final price, as it is all dependent on the demand for seats and the volume of bookings at that time. The Ryanair website has a ‘Fare Finder’ feature which identifies the cheapest flights to your selected destination.

Ryanair flights to Germany

ISI’s most popular market for students at the moment is Germany, and it’s natural that this should be a popular destination for many of our students who are keen to spend some time at home this summer. You may fly to Berlin, Frankfurt or Munich for as little as €5 euros one way! Other locations in Germany that are serviced by Ryanair include Bremen, Cologne, Dortmund, Dresden, Dusseldorf, Hamburg, Hanover, Karlsruhe, Nuremberg and Stuttgart.

Ryanair flights to France

Ryanair offers plenty of cheap flights to France’s capital Paris – though given the popularity of this location, July and August are especially busy periods and prices may rise accordingly. Ryanair also offers flights to such French destinations as Biarritz, Bordeaux, Brest, Carcassonne, Dinard, Grenoble, Lourdes, Lyon, Marseille, Nice, Poitiers, Strasbourg and Toulouse.

Ryanair flights to Spain

Ryanair is currently offering a return trip to Malaga for just €14.99! Ryanair will also get you to such desirable Spanish locations as Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Minorca, Santander, Seville, Valencia, Zaragoza and many others.

Other destinations

Other countries in Europe that Ryanair is currently offering cheap flights to include Austria, Belgium, Croatia, Denmark, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, and Portugal. It is recommended that you frequently check their website as great offers can come and go very quickly. Frequent travel updates and informative articles about potential destinations are posted regularly.

We dearly hope that all of our ISI students are lucky enough to get a chance to get away this summer and enjoy a great holiday abroad. Good luck with your bookings!
