Studying English in Dublin isn’t just about classroom lessons you realize that very quickly. The city is full of cultural spots, museums, natural sites, and plenty of opportunities to meet new people.

When I started studying at ISI Dublin, I quickly understood that there were many things to do for free. Thanks to ISI Dublin’s social programme, it’s even easier to discover them with other students.

I’ve put together a list of things to do as a language student in Dublin.

Explore the Howth Cliffs 🥾

You can choose to do this hike on your own, but I really recommend going as part of the ISI social programme. Every Friday, with Tony and other students, you have the opportunity to enjoy this getaway outside the city in a breathtaking setting and practice your English at the same time.
This hike is open to everyone, creates a very friendly atmosphere, and is also the perfect way to end the week after classes.

Walk along the River Liffey 🌊

Since ISI Dublin is located in the city centre, it’s only a few minutes’ walk from the river. You can easily head there during your lunch break or after class to enjoy the city’s famous bridges, relax on a bench, and soak up Dublin’s lively atmosphere all for free!

Visit art galleries and museums. Dublin offers many free museums and cultural spaces, so whether you’re interested in history, art, or Irish culture, there’s always something new to discover. You can go alone, with other students, or even through the social programme with Tony it’s always a great opportunity to learn and practice your English outside the classroom. You can also relax in St Stephen’s Green, where, when the weather is nice, many students gather to have lunch with friends, read a book, or simply unwind in a peaceful green setting where you might even spot a surprising variety of birds. Finally, joining ISI’s social activities is one of the best ways to enjoy Dublin, as mentioned earlier; these group activities offered by ISI Dublin go far beyond what’s listed here and are a great way to meet people and make the most of your experience.
