Hi there! My name is Raquel, I’m Brazilian, and when I arrived in Ireland last March, my English was very basic — I knew I had to start from scratch. Like many students, my first job was in cleaning — a tiring role, but one filled with valuable lessons about life and about myself. 🧹💪
From the beginning, I had a clear goal: to
improve my English and unlock new opportunities. So, I dedicated myself fully — attending classes attentively, practicing with friends, and even gathering the courage to speak with strangers. 🗣️📚
Over time, I gained confidence, and with it, new doors began to open. Soon after, I got a job as a caregiver for elderly people — a role that connects me daily with the Irish community, lets me practice English in real life, and, most importantly, allows me to help and build meaningful relationships with wonderful people. ❤️👵👴
English has also given me something beyond work: freedom. Freedom to travel, explore new places, and live unforgettable experiences. Today, every conversation is a chance to learn more, and every trip is a new lesson outside the classroom. ✈️🌍
I am very grateful to ISI Dublin, where I continue to study and receive constant support and encouragement to keep improving. Without this foundation, none of this would have been possible. 🙏🎓
If I could leave one piece of advice, it would be: believe in your potential, practice always, and don’t be afraid to make mistakes — English can transform your life just like it transformed mine 🌟
