11 Months in Ireland – A Rewarding Experience, Alice | Taiwan

I’ve been in Ireland for 11 months now, and this time has been truly rewarding.

Currently, I’m studying at ISI Language School, which is the second language school I’ve attended since coming to Ireland.

Initially, my plan was to apply for a Master’s program after completing my first language school. However, I felt that my English was still not strong enough, and I wanted to further solidify my language skills. So, I decided to enroll in another term of language school.

When choosing a school this time, I specifically focused on the learning environment. I wanted to find a school with a full English-speaking environment and avoid relying too much on my native language social circle. I believe this is the best way to truly improve my language skills.
At ISI, most students come from Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Korea, Japan, and Chile. Meeting classmates from all over the world has broadened my horizons and helped me become more comfortable communicating in English with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.

My Learning Experience at ISI

Among all the language schools I’ve attended, ISI has impressed me the most with its quality of teaching.

• Dedicated and professional teachers – The teachers are very patient and take the time to explain concepts one-on-one, ensuring that every student can keep up.
• Small class sizes – This is one of my favorite aspects. Small classes allow each student to receive more attention from the teacher, providing more opportunities to speak and practice.
• Interactive learning – The teacher organizes group discussions daily, allowing us to collaborate with different classmates, practice speaking, and build friendships at the same time.
• Regular quizzes – Weekly quizzes help us track our progress and identify areas that need improvement.

Extracurricular Activities & Life Lessons

Studying at ISI isn’t just about learning in the classroom—there are also many enriching activities and life experiences:

1. After-school activities – The school frequently organizes extracurricular events, creating a relaxed learning environment and giving us more opportunities to make new friends.
2. Work opportunities – Students at language schools in Ireland are legally allowed to work part-time, which is an excellent way to improve language skills. Personally, working has helped me learn many practical expressions and better understand the local culture.

Studying at a language school in Ireland has been more than just learning English—it’s been a completely new experience and challenge. The learning environment and atmosphere at ISI have boosted my confidence and made me realize that language learning isn’t just about sitting in a classroom. It’s about immersing yourself in life and actively practicing every day.
