My name is Raquel, I’m 30 years old and I’m passionate about exploring the world around me. I love visiting museums full of history, discovering charming cafés and connecting with new cultures. My journey in Ireland began in March, just a week before the famous St Patrick’s Day, when I arrived with zero English. Since then, my life has been a true adventure of learning and overcoming.
Throughout my time here, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of areas, from events and cleaning to other challenging and enriching experiences. Each job has taught me a lot, not only about resilience, but also about the importance of communicating well, especially in a new language. With dedication and the support of the school, my English has improved significantly and continues to develop.
Today, I feel much more confident to face everyday situations, meet people from different cultures and even travel to other countries, where I can practise my English and have unique experiences. These trips have been incredible and show me how rewarding it is to get out of my comfort zone.
Outside of my studies, my great passion is sport. Even on the coldest days, I maintain a disciplined routine of jiu-jitsu and gym training, which helps me strengthen body and mind. The discipline and energy of sport is directly reflected in my determination to learn and grow every day.
My journey with English has been much more than learning a new language; it’s been a life transformation. I am deeply grateful for the school, which has been an essential pillar on this path, and for all the incredible experiences I have had here in Ireland. Every museum visited, every new friendship and every conversation in English shows me that learning is constant and always opens doors to new worlds.
