My name is Caio, and I’m a Brazilian student at ISI Dublin. I believe moving to another country is a big challenge. Everything is different: the people, the city, the language.

When I arrived in Ireland, I didn’t speak any English. And sometimes I looked at other students and thought:

“Wow… they’re learning so fast, and I’m still at the basics.”

But over time, I understood something very important:

Every person is different. Every student has their own story.

Some people studied English before coming. Others already listened to a lot of music and translated lyrics, others played video games and had contact with the language. And some (like me!) started from zero.

Some students work a lot, others are lucky enough to focus only on studying, some are dealing with missing their families, or discovering themselves in a new life.
Everyone has a different life and a different past.

So, don’t compare yourself. Just do your best. One day at a time.

I’ve had conversations like this with Brazilian classmates who felt nervous or “behind.” Later, some of them told me they felt lighter, more relaxed, and some even found better jobs because they stopped putting so much pressure on themselves.

Hearing those thank yous makes me really happy.

Sometimes, all we need is someone to remind us: it’s okay.

If you’re already here, you’re brave. You made a big decision. You said “yes” to change.

You are strong. You are learning. You are growing at your own pace.
